How to present yourself in French

Meeting somebody for the first time is always a tricky business, learn the first 2 phrases by heart, they soon will become useful.
| Je me présente | Let me introduce myself |
| Je m’appelle | I am as in my name is |
You might have to describe yourself or try to understand what somebody looks like therefore the following vocabulary will become very handy.
| Je suis | I am as in I am |
| Il est/ elle est | He is/ She is |
| J’ai | I have |
| Il a / Elle a | He has/ She has |
When talking about people, some words might sometimes be unflattering, for example if a person is big avoid using gros/grosse but instead say fort/ forte. Same for a person who is very thin rather than maigre which might be perceived as derogatory and implies bony use mince.
